Pit Bull Friendly Apartments

Chances are if you are reading this page, you have a beloved pet who both falls outside of the favored 25 pound limit and is considered a “dangerous” breed.

Do not despair.  Your dogs are fabulous dogs and it is your job to showcase how wonderful your dog is, and how great of a tenant you will be.

If you are a Pit Bull owner looking for an apartment, condo or other rental here in San Diego, we encourage you to fill out a renter profile on this site to help in your search.

Additionally, take a look through the San Diego rental properties we have listed – you just may find a match!

Tips for Renters Looking for Pitbull Friendly Apartments:

  1. Enroll your Pit Bull in obedience classes, and consider taking your dog to obtain Canine Good Citizen certification.
  2. Create a dog resume to paint a positive portrait of your pet.
  3. Make sure your pet visits the veterinarian annually to check for overall health and wellness.
  4. Male dogs should be neutered to reduce dominance related issues, help control the pet population and curtail wandering.
  5. Make sure your dog gets appropriate exercise.
  6. Your Pitbull should always be walked on a leash, and kept in a physically fenced area when outside.
  7. Always make sure any dog is never left unattended with children.
  8. Teach children (and adults) how to behave around animals.
  9. Be aware of how much your dog picks up on your signals; i.e. your nervousness will manifest itself within your dog.
  10. Demonstrate what it means to be a responsible dog owner.
